W e l c o m e

I grew up in a quintessentially American way in the Ozark Hills of rural Northwest Arkansas.

Born the son of a small town doctor and talented painter, I learned to sing and play in the church at an early age. When my love and natural talent for music led to piano lessons, my passion for singing while playing was greater than my desire to practice scales and I quickly chose to teach myself instead. I would set my little boombox on top of the piano and put it on the Top 40 station and play and sing along one song after the next, for hours on end.

Although I quickly developed my own style, I was heavily influenced by the likes of Elton John, Billy Joel, and the Beatles, among others.

Distractions came easily because of my interest and opportunities in entrepreneurship and the somewhat limited opportunities for my music in small town Arkansas. Shortly after my mother's sudden death in 1996 and while in my early college days, I become involved in my hometown of Gravette and the surrounding area in various capacities. I eagerly (maybe overly so...) engaged in things such as healthcare administration, property development, as well as politics and the Chamber of Commerce.  Over the years I even dabbled in custom furniture design/manufacturing and restaurant management.

It was in 2004 that my talent caught the attention of Paula Abdul at a local event sponsored by Walmart. Consequently, I was selected as a top 12 male finalist on American Idol and performed for 30 million viewers in 2006.

Elimination came earlier than expected for me--a performer with skills best displayed when allowed to use my instrument--but the experience was enlightening and gave rise to many opportunities.

My performances include covers and originals delivered in a unique style most would describe as "passionately piano driven pop".

I have performed in every imaginable setting over the years: churches; with my band at numerous clubs and events throughout the South; in major venues in Las Vegas; and a wide variety of private engagements. I have headlined at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville and recorded in studios in New York and Nashville.

For several years I worked extensively as a special guest entertainer for some of the top rated cruise lines around the world. It was a fantastic chaper of my life.

My home is in Northwest Arkansas where I took a leadership role at a well loved church in downtown Springdale after my wife Lacey and I had our son, Ben. I mixed my time at the church with various performance opportunities, writing and recording in my studio, continuing to engage politically in my local community and, of course, enjoying my family.

My interest in numbers and finance and business management also continued to become a significant part of my identity.

Through my company, Hall Enterprises, Inc., there have been plenty of non music related focal points through the years: project/financial/overall business management / HR / Payroll & accounting / Strategy & forecasting / Real estate investment / Political campaign management / Audio & Video creation, just to name a few.
